A House in Asia
Agrupación Señor Serrano
Barcelona/Spain
Multimedia object theatre
Company
Àlex Serrano Tarragó, a qualified industrial designer, founded the Agrupaciónensemble in 2006 after finishing his studies in directing at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. In its multimedia projects, the ensemble blends elements of visual theatre with interactive technologies. Agrupación already performed at UNIDRAM in 2011.
Performance
Cowboys and Indians. Beer, Take That and cheeseburgers. In the White House, officials are live at the scene when Osama bin Laden, under the code name of Geronimo – the Apache chief who was also ‘wanted dead or alive’ during his lifetime – is liquidated near Islamabad. In A House in Asia, one of the greatest witch-hunts in history is turned into scenic Western with four performers, various miniature models, film sequences and video projections arranged live. A media shoot-out over the empty graves of reality, in which the white-whale-obsessed Captain Ahab mutates into the sheriff and declares the historic mission of America with the voice of George W. Bush.
