A cityscape made up of cube: they move forwards and backwards, sometimes slowly and barely visible, sometimes fast, and seeming to roll over everything in their path. The walls vibrate and sway. In among them is a body, pressed into a corner, besieged and flooded by projections that threaten to swallow it up. Breathless and driven on by the pulsating space, this person is constantly forced to adjust. Each new movement has to be carefully considered and weighed up. Each step is a balancing act, a restless search for the path between constraint and liberation, control and its relinquishment, to the point of exhaustion and beyond.
Since 2005, Anna Konjetzky
has been creating dance pieces, performances and installations that
always explore the use of space. In the context of the euro-scene
festival Leipzig 2009, her short piece Elephantengedächtnis won first
prize in the competition Best German Dance Solo. Last year Anna
Konjetzky received the Förderpreis Tanz (Award for New Dance Talent)
from the state capital of Munich.
