»Kàin Kalapja« (Cain’s Hat) (Corporeal Theatre)
German Première
Cain killed Abel. With a stone in his hand, in his head or in his heart? An eternal symbol of fratricide, of transgression. It would seem that one had best be on one’s guard, as Cain, a master of camouflage, well knows. There are archaic stone buildings on stage and a female giant, who sings unmoved. There are dwarves too, who trudge by again and again, pushing barrows piled high with stones as they go. Simultaneous scenes, dark masks and a multitude of people wearing hats. The mark of Cain is ubiquitous. An ancient myth is uncovered, used as associative material and fragmented: grotesque, entertaining and terrifying at the same time.
