After its participation in 2002 and 2006, the Bladder Circus puts its tent up again at UNIDRAM. Its performers are musicians, singers and actors. The founding director is Szabolcs Szöke, known in Hungary as a colourful personality, world musician, instrument maker, theatre maker and visual artist.
Performance
A laid dining table, the leftovers of a party without end. First a drunken merry feast followed by sudden tristesse. Inspired by Thomas Bernhard's Ein Fest für Boris (A Party for Boris) and the misery of its legless characters, this melancholic musical happening with unique instruments and other wondrous sounds wants to sound like a musical comedy but soon turns into a requiem. When the long-awaited event, Boris’s birthday party, finally takes place and Boris dies, the party guests are suddenly gripped by paralysis and immobility, and ultimately by absolute stasis. As though Death were still wandering about the house and still had something to do .….
