Company
Since 1985, Nicole Mossoux and Patrick Bonté have produced nearly 30 performances and five films together. Their work combines modern dance, contemporary puppet theatre and elements of image theatre. They themselves have described the resulting dramatic form – an unsettling combination of otherness and familiarity – as theatre of behaviour.
Performance
The things that caffeine can do to you! Two elegant women sit in a genteel café. Slowly their behaviour becomes more and more bizarre. Initially they are confused as they are overcome by dark, carnal desires and begin to lose self-control. Whatever happens, they must restrain themselves! But in the end, lust and debauchery break all the rules. The café turns into a dissolute nightclub, its guests turn into striptease dancers. With disturbing physicality and surreal eroticism, they are suddenly players in a sinister dream sequence that toys with images of femininity and recalls the offbeat expressionism of David Lynch films.
