DeGater ´87

DeGater ´87 is a fringe company from Potsdam. Within the last years it has developed a method of working, that explores the limit of theatre experience. The aim is the transformation of everyday behaviour into a system of images and metaphors, that explores unconscious structures and tries to disclose them.
Beside the work on its own productions DeGater ´87 organises the Eastern European-German festival for fringe theatre UNIDRAM.

The text tells the story of Rose and Willi, who set out on a world of memories while searching for their own identity. According to the poetic expanse of the text, the flood of the children`s memories is cut into episodes and stories and is assembled by using the means of association. Different levels of consciousness merge into one another, dreams, past und real time begin to exist simultaneously. Like a vortex a series of images revolves around the secret of the childhood experience of Rose and Willi.
