Fish Eye is a group of artists active in the fields of dance, music and visual art. The group produces diverse projects ranging from the dance and theatre festival PLArtFORMA to dance productions, exhibitions, street happenings, and fire and ice sculptures.
Performance
Absurd physicality, deformed masculinity – four figures dance in front of video projections of urban landscapes. Uniformly dressed in oversized costumes, they are both dancers and opera soloists, with a libretto full of quotations by the French philosophers Baudrillard, Sartre and Foucault. Simulation, imitation and forgery are therefore central aspects of the production. Wasted Land attempts to bring these ideas to life through dance, music and art, and despite a heavy dose of irony conveys a serious critical message about modern-day society.
