#mysharedspace
Kollektiv mysharedspace
Germany
Immersive installation with puppets and objects for one person at a time, 45-minute sessions, admission will take place every 30 minutes. Guests need to register. In German with small parts in English. Unfortunately not fully accessible for people with disabilities. No admission for young people under 16.
In #mysharedspace each audience member is invited individually to explore the home of an absent stranger. The intimate, private retreat of an unknown person suddenly begins to come to life, like an organism in its own right, telling tales of the encounters and memories of its inhabitant. From an alter ego, to commentators, to reminiscing about past guests, the various subjects are manifested in the apartment as residents populating the space. As a guest, it is like diving into a whole new universe; like exploring and feeling out a space that itself appears to be a living thing, and whose language you can try to learn.
#mysharedspace is an interactive, immersive installation that incorporates elements from puppet and object theatre. The starting point for the Kollektiv mysharedspace were numerous encounters collected over several years on online dating platforms as well as while couch-surfing. The participating artists Salomé Klein and Larissa Jenne as stage and costume designers, Emilia Giertler as puppeteer, and Christina Schelhas as director have designed a cosmos in an apartment, in whose rooms the voyeurism and curiosity of the guests is welcomed. It’s up to each individual who enters the apartment to decide how far to take the game.
