Concert
Les TroublAmours
Tarbes/France
The songs of the five troubadours, whose roots lie in street theatre and street music, sound like the folk music of an imaginary country. The saxophone and tuba are jazzy yet hold their own against the flourishing fanfares. The accordion takes on a more balanced, traditional role, and the tambourine keeps everyone nervously on their toes. The mixture of Balkan, chanson and Bal-musette, Tarantella and Italian street music suffuses the music with a Mediterranean charm. At times gentle, at times melancholic, then powerful again, it’s always good to dance to.
