Sound Power Station
Małe Instrumenty
Wrocław/Poland
Mechanic Concert
Company
The group was founded in 2006. In July 2007 they preformed for the first time at the Era New Horizons Film festival in Wrocław. Since then they have worked under the name Małe Instrumenty on different musical projects always featuring a broad range of the most diverse instruments and devices.
Performance
A big, heavy sound and light machine, set into motion by six musicians in boiler suits – sound mechanics using beside guitar and ukulele instruments like flickering light bulbs, beeping wireless sets, clattering type writers, alarm clocks, roof gutters, children's toys, entire water sound machines; even a lathe from a fitter's shop. Sound Power Station is factory music made of glass, wool, metal, wood and other material, unmistakably paying respect to Steve Reich, Enio Morricone and Pascal Comelade.
