Artist

Performance
The art of producing the right sound at the right time to accompany moving images in real time is a little bit like alchemy. Even today it is a skill that is passed down; the secrets of sound production are as fiercely guarded as magic tricks. Ranging from the advent of Foley in the era of silent movies through to the digital film and radio studio, Max Bauer gives an insight into the foley artist’s hundred-year-old box of tricks and composes a miniature audio play live for the eyes and ears of the audience.
