Multimedia puppet theatre
Company
Collaborations between the puppeteer Iris Meinhardt, theatre director and video artist Michael Krauss and composer and musician Thorsten Meinhardt have resulted since 2003 in stage performances that traverse the genres of puppet theatre, film, new media and new music.
Performance
Inexplicable, threatening and spectral: a room without a view and without an exit. The woman, unable to fathom how she ended up in this place, is also completely incapable of working out the laws that govern it. The space seems to have a life of its own. Windows that didn’t exist a moment ago suddenly slam shut. Landscapes scud through the room; clouds produce snow. Walls begin to crumble and the floor sways. Black-and-white projections abruptly appear only to disappear again just as quickly; noises, voices and music turn the room into an evocative gaol of image and illusion in which real life seems absorbed by virtuality, and space and time disintegrate. .
