A huge screen, an empty stage, a visible backstage. A provisional set-up
in an intimate atmosphere. A young dancer, just before her performance,
is still half herself, half in character. She is tense, nervous and
focussed on the question: How can I etch myself onto the spectators’
memories? The theme of expectation is explored through a variety of
roles, veering between opposite extremes of aspiration, self-assertion
and heteronomy, strength and triumph, desperation and failure. A
fragmented body, light and music. FLASHED BY tells a story of
loss and disappearance: first the woman loses her clothing, then
gradually her identity and her dignity, until finally she only continues
to exist in a thicket of projections and false images.
NANOHACH sees itself as a platform for the organisation and realisation of international theatre and dance pieces as well as projects in public spaces. The members are both actors and producers, who have created over twenty pieces in the first decade of their existence. The group has been a guest at UNIDRAM twice before, in 2008 and 2012.
