Two men, the kitchen and the philosopher. It hisses, steams and simmers. Metallic clicks, suspicious echoes. A bleak isolated microcosm. Something is lurking somewhere. “Perhaps man is never at home in his home?” whispers Martin Heidegger, the critic of civilization and technology. A web of cables leads the two directly to the centre of a sinister machine, and the complete dismantling of the furniture is followed by total devastation. A web of cables leads the two directly to the centre of a sinister machine, and the complete dismantling of the furniture is followed by total devastation. Between silence and terrifying noise, Lichtung is a theatre of powerful images and sound that asks for an existence between nature and technology – an acoustic apocalypse along the paths of Heidegger's thinking, staged by means of musique concréte.
With its interdisciplinary projects and performances, the O-Team dedicates itself to socially and politically relevant subjects. Over the past ten years, the group has continuously developed new artistic forms to this aim, initiating numerous cooperations and partnerships. For the production of Lichtung, the ensemble received the critic’s prize of the Stuttgart Theatre Award.
