Figure theatre, 60 min., In Bulgarian with English surtitles
The rock, the mountain, the repeated action – Sisyphus. No other person embodies the futility and toil of human action as acutely as he does. Whichever path he takes, whoever he tries to become, he always comes back to himself. Departure, experiment and failure. Everything always starts all over again. The choreographic interaction between real human body and the simultaneous animation of various characters, objects and torsos repeatedly produces curious hybrid and intermediate beings. They wrestle with themselves and seek to find the gap in the system of absurdity in order perhaps to escape it.
After a long-term collaboration on various projects, the already well-established and internationally successful director Veselka Kuncheva and the artist Marieta Golomehova founded the ensemble Puppet’s Lab three years ago. In search of a dramatic language which draws on figurative, physical and visual theatrical forms, they have developed their own independent vision of an impressive visual theatre.
