Companies
Founded as the umbrella organisation of several independent Potsdam theatre companies, the non-profit association T-Werk is one of the largest independent cultural organisations in the state of Brandenburg. Annually it produces approximately six theatre productions and organises several festivals.
Alta Musica is dedicated to the performancee of late mediaeval music. The size of the group varies, with the full ensemble comprising up to eight singers and a diverse range of instruments including the flute, lute, vielle, harp, shawm, hurdy-gurdy, pommer and slide trumpet.
Performance
A Polish manor inhabited by a retired bank manager and his wife. Two friends have rented rooms there for the summer. Both immediately set their sights on their hosts’ daughter. However, the father also enjoys a closer than permissible relationship to his daughter. Intrigues coupled with dubious, unsettling, inscrutable occurrences – the bougeois establishment turns into a madhouse, with strangled birds and cats a harbinger of impending disaster. Kosmos is at once a theatrical whodunit and psychological chamber drama, an at times horrifying, at times cheerful word and sound painting that, by means of a crisis of consciousness, tells of the impossibility of world order.
