Company
For some thirty years now, the members of TAMTAM Objektentheater have been working with quaint objects and figures which they not only create for the theatre but also for animated films. Its two founders, Gérard Schiphorst and Marije van der Sande, are also well-known identities in the realm of object art.
Performance
Heedless hammers, sneaky saws and surly irons: in the black comedy Survival the tiny figure K. lives in a ramshackle cottage all alone in the country. K.’s life is marked by ill-fated events that he somehow manages to defy. Indeed, there are people trying to drive him away, to simply tear down his old and useless hut … A play about the mechanisms of anonymous power and the right to individual freedom, full of Irish tragedy, Arabian melancholy and underscored by a bitingly bitter Blues.
