Twilight
Trickster-p
Switzerland
Scenic installation, 45 min, nonverbal
Walls that seem to be made of raw concrete. A thunderstorm approaches, cars race along wet roads, a dog barks. Bright and fading lights, transitions between day and night, twilight dreams, interference. A choreography for dying light. Beauty erodes – everything seems to rush towards mortality. With its visual-acoustic manifestations and transformations, the architectural space of Twilight focuses on the perception of space and time. The only human factor is the audience, which creates its own reality through the interplay of shifting and reflective metaphorical images.
Trickster-p are Cristina Galbiati and Ilija Luginbühl. Their productions are fantastic, poetic installations in which space, sound, objects and light become performers. By breaking down the barriers between the performing and visual arts, the protagonists create a microcosm whose rules deviate from those of everyday perceptions of time and space. In this way they create an aesthetic and emotional experience in which stories emerge in the audience’s imagination. The distinct poetics of their works, which can be seen at festivals all over the world, makes them an unmistakable voice in contemporary international theatre.
