Performance
A triste, ramshackle office with two employees. Will the young ambitious colleague climb the career ladder or will the old colleague pull him down? At first, the harmless duel revolves around defending their own drawers, but soon the rules and routines of everyday life among filing cabinets pushes the men’s rivalry to extremes. The paper-pushing gangsters become mean and brutal, and the end is one long delirium of furniture shoving. As if they were puppets, and with a great deal of slapstick, two mime artists go to work with such hammer and tongs that it looks as if Laurel and Hardy are having a showdown. At the same time, this is a tale about the conflict between generations and with authority, as well as about a world of work riddled with competition and alienation.
