Millimetre precision is needed when placing objects to create an illusion. Live cameras and video manipulations deconstruct interactions that are then recomposed on screen. In the best sense of the word, the distinction between ‘virtual’ and ‘real’ becomes blurred. New contours are revealed in an extraordinary fantasy space that combines contemporary circus with video art, dance and physical theatre and shows people in encounters mediated exclusively by technology.

Company Portmanteau is a contemporary circus ensemble from Finland that specialises in the creation of multidisciplinary productions that pursue a dialogue between circus and other art forms. The theatre was founded as a collaboration between the circus artist and painter Luis Sartori do Vale and the dancer and circus artiste Mira Ravald. Company Portmanteau has been touring internationally with its repertoire since 2018.
