Long Nights of Experiments
Djalma Primordial Science (Berlin/Germany)
(Myopia)
Performance
Company
The Butoh dancer Ephia and sound artist and guitarist Jeff Gburek combine live electro-acoustic music with experimental, physical corporeal theater in their performances. In the eight years of their collaboration live improvisation has been DPSs most important focus.
Performance
Myopia (Gr.), short-sightedness: a classroom becomes a site of memory for an almost blind girl approaching puberty, out of balance with herself, torn in two. One body refusing to conform, another body longing to. Febrile, insect-like movements. Inspired by Tadeusz Kantors Dead Class, Myopia shows extreme turbulences and metamorphoses of the body moving in the liminal space between stigma and individuality.
