Long Night Of Experiments
Akhe (St. Petersburg/Russia)
Plug i Play
object theatre
Company
One of Russia's best known independent theatre groups, AKHE will be again guest at UNIDRAM this year. The group likes to call its stage productions Engineer Theatre, with a certain touch of irony since their performances are teeming with absurdities, strange objects and artistic citations.
Performance
Little dolls swimming in Coke, flambéed in Vodka, surprise guests from Novosibirsk, Pushkin's heirs … the experience of this party performance includes timeless visionary theatre acts in the style of revolutionary sailors as well as live-painting on giant felt walls with Maxim and Pasha, well tried in lovesickness, the godlike creation and destruction of daring objects and material from scrap SOJUS space-capsules as well as ecstatic dance& medicine to the notes of DJ Andrej. But beware! Only the music is guaranteed, not the course of the programme.

Gobo. Digital Glossary
object theatre
Performance
Magical chaos as absurd and quirky as it is familiar. Odd apparatus and wild mixtures of theatre and film. The new multimedia AKHE-laboratory emanates from an eclectic age when, for example, attempts were made to adapt legends of Russian saints for silent movies. In a clownesque and anarchical manner magnanimous acts of desperation are presented, but also ink-blue underwater worlds where diving garden gnomes in teacup wrecks are searching for sweetener. At the same time we can watch a liaison on land between humans and boxing hand-puppet kangaroos. And when a mini robot looking for a new battery heads straight towards disaster our hearts are almost torn apart.
