Non-Verbal Theatre
German Première
Company
Founded nine years ago, SkRAT is one of the Slovak Republic’s foremost independent theatre companies. In 2006 and 2009 they received the award for Best New Slovakian Drama. Their work revolves around contemporary dramatic and music theatre.
Performance
A trembling light flickers fleetingly. Snapshots of living rooms, bed- and bathrooms, kitchens and corridors. The most intimate intimacy, bizarre sketches of the routine of everyday life in the cycle of thwarted hopes. By means of a special visual effect much like cross-fading in film, a mosaic of interrupted stories emerges which the spectator has to keep putting together. A socio-critical puzzle training exercise for the (human) pictures of society’s margins: sad, comical, shocking, savage.
