Iva Nova (St. Petersburg/Russia)
Concert
The four women from the ethno rock band Iva Nova are no strangers to Potsdam. They combine traditional Russian music with a blend of ska, punk, rock and jazz. The result is a fresh, fast-tempo and very danceable collection of songs with a feminine flair intensive, powerful and full of pent-up energy. The Bayan, or button accordion, of Russian folk music fame, plays a central role too. The Russian edition of Rolling Stone wrote: Iva Nova is the coolest Russian female band.
