Theater Nadi (Potsdam/Germany)
Himmelkumov and other Personalities
Movement Theatre after Daniil Kharms
Company
Founded in 2004 by Japanese actress Noriko Seki and Potsdam mime artist Steffen Findeisen, Nadi offers artists from different cultures and genres an island of collaboration and exchange. With poetic gestures, narrative images and dance movements they create a bridge between fantasy and reality. Nadi has been working closely with T-Werk since 2005.
Performance
Life only interests me in its nonsensical form Nadi is not only on the trail of the nonsense but also the deeper sense in Kharms’s texts. Inspired by his absurd stories which tell as much of a hidden political, socio-critical posture as they do of a life of extravagance, bitter poverty and repressive state violence, Nadi sets out on a journey through Daniil Kharms’s world accompanied by much clowning, music, movement and images it is a world as explosive as ever.
