Ville Walo, Nouveau Cirque performer and innovator in modern juggling, and Kalle Hakkarainen, illusionist, inventor of tricks and video artist have joined forces to create a new kind of performance combining classical and modern circus techniques with film footage and video projections.
Performance
Can we believe our eyes? Everything seems labyrinthine and surreal. The stage is a site of moving, meandering pictures. The latest features of digital media technology give rise to a show that combines elements of circus performance such as acrobatic juggling and magic with dance and object theatre while exploring the theme of communication and reminding of the right of human beings to have a room of one’s own, a place free of all obligation to engage with the world at large.

Illusion Theatre
Performance
Odotustila, the Finnish word for waiting or waiting room, features two men at a railway station. They transform this site of encounter and randomness into a dreamworld between illusion and reality. By means of juggling, film images and dance movements they circle around the themes of beauty and indolence, manipulate time and space, multiply realities and on top of that offer an insight into the melancholy face of the modern clown.
