Company
Artus is one of the best-known theatre groups in Hungary and has been producing work consistently for many years. Performance
Ulysses’ odyssey took 20 years. In James Joyce’s novel, Leopold Bloom roams through Dublin in a single day. Ulysses’ Living Room also creates the myth of the journey and the eternal return. In the middle of a cosy living-room-like space, crammed full of sofas, tables and lamps, the travellers from afar have finally come home to tell tales of their voyages. Veering between absurd dance, poetic horseplay, object theatre and performative actions, they tell their stories in ritualised sequences, symbols and metaphors. The audience is surrounded by the action, making them part of the performance and active participants in this imaginary
