Tantehorse was formed in 2006 by Miřenka Čechová and Radim Vizvary from the theatre Pantomissimo (UNIDRAM 2008). Their productions are distinguished by their expressive yet surrealist style.
Performance
‘I was born a girl, but I know that it was a mistake.’ Transgender, transformation, metamorphosis – S/He is Nancy Joe is a piece about rebelling against the constraints of one’s given sex; about a body that, once unfettered, struggles against clichés, conventions, normalisation, and against loneliness caused by otherness. Interactive comics and elements of hip hop, classical ballet as well as contemporary dance are combined into an act of liberation and self-assertion with a single-mindedness and choreographic furore that leaves the audience gasping for breath..
